Nycomed Belgium is the commercial subsidiary of Nycomed Christiaens and represents Nycomed in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Nycomed Belgium distributes its range of pharmaceutical products and consists of a number of Pharma teams as well as an OTC team.
The Pharma team is subdivided into four teams of medical representatives who provide information on their product range to GPs and hospital specialists.
The hospital team visits both specialists and hospitals for those medicines in the respective product portfolios the specialist is interested in.
The four teams are:
- The Christiaens Pharma Division
- The Exel Pharma Division
- The Sandipro Division
- The Nycomed Division
- The Hospital Division of Nycomed Belgium
The team of OTC representatives calls upon pharmacies with Nycomed Belgium’s extensive range of OTC products.
The range of OTC products consists of preparations focusing on pain, the locomotive apparatus, osteoporosis, gastroenterology, cardiology, urology, surgery, endocrinology and psychiatry. They are available both on prescription and over the counter.
Nycomed's product range consists of:
- Brand-name medicines available only on prescription, such as Pantozol®, Zurcale®, Matrifen®,
L-Thyroxine Christiaens® and Mitomycin-C Kyowa®
- OTC brand-name medicines such as Asaflow®, Steocar®, Steovit D3®, Neo-Cutigenol®, Radikal®, Dermanox®
- Vitamin and/or mineral complexes such as Quatral®, Q10-Quatral®, Magnecaps Forte® Plus, Dynatonic®, Dynavit Junior®, Magnecaps®,
New-Ton®, Vitacys®, Glucadol®, Glucadol Twin®, New-Ton + Omega3®
- Bodycare and bodyprotection products such as Moustimug®, Sanihand®, Physiomer®, etc.
- A product used solely in operating theatres: TachoSil®,
Depending on the type of product, product information is provided to the medical staff, i.e. GPs, specialists as well as pharmacists. Certain medicines sold over the counter are promoted directly to the general public.
